Some Extra Detail

Permabond® MH196 is an anaerobic material specifically engineered for creating custom gaskets directly on metal surfaces. It has the unique ability to replace traditional gaskets, potentially reducing the need for extensive stock inventory. This material promotes direct surface-to-surface contact, enhancing load transmission. What sets it apart is its non-shrinking, non-creeping, and non-relaxing properties after curing, eliminating the need for bolt re-tightening. Additionally, it boasts outstanding resistance to chemicals and high temperatures, withstanding up to 200°C.

Surface Preparation Prior to Using Permabond MH196

Anaerobic adhesives can handle a bit of surface contamination, but for optimal results, ensure surfaces are clean, dry, and degreased. Consider using a suitable solvent-based cleaner, like acetone or isopropanol. Generally, roughened surfaces (~25?m) deliver stronger bond strengths than polished or ground surfaces. To cut down the curing time, especially on inactive surfaces such as zinc, aluminium, or stainless steel, you might want to use Permabond A905 or ASC10.

How To Use Permabond MH196

1) Before reassembling the parts, make sure to thoroughly remove any remnants of the old adhesive or gasket.
2) Apply Permabond® MH196 in your preferred method, including bead application, roller, silkscreen, or stencil. Be sure to encircle all potential leak paths, such as flange bolt holes.
3) When it's time to disassemble, use standard tools to lever the surfaces apart.
